Minimize Your Chances of Getting Sick at Work

New Job Pursuit 12 May, 2020

Now is a terrifying and sensitive time as people try to conduct their jobs without getting sick. The following are a few pointers that will minimize your exposure to germs and help you stay safe while you're working.

Wear a Mask

Wear a mask to protect yourself and others. The mask will provide a barrier between you and someone who might be sneezing or coughing around you. You should wear your mask during your entire shift and only remove it once you get home.

Keep Sanitizer by Your Side

Keep a bottle of hand sanitizer by your side so that you can get into the habit of using it frequently. It immediately kills the viral germs that are threatening the population. Don't be afraid to use it many times throughout your workday. Ideally, you will use it after each interaction with a customer or after you handle money.

Keep Your Hands Away From Your Face

One of your main goals should be to ensure that you keep your hands away from your face at all times. That way, you can avoid getting any infectious germs in your mouth, eyes, and nasal cavity. If you have to touch your face, you will need to first wash your hands in hot, soapy water for at least 20 seconds.

Stay Six Feet Away

Social distancing is also essential because viral germs can only go so far. You'll fare well if you stay six feet away from all people at all times.

Shower When You Get Home

A bonus tip is to remove all of your clothing and take a shower as soon as you get home. Be sure to wash your hair while you shower. You may also want to wash your clothing in hot water if you have a washing machine and dryer inside of your dwelling.

It is possible to get through each day without getting seriously ill. You just have to stick with the precautions mentioned above to give yourself the best chance to stay healthy.
